Literacy Volunteers of Northern Connecticut’s “5th Annual Scrabble Challenge

The First Place Winner of Literacy Volunteers of Northern Connecticut’s “5th Annual Scrabble Challenge” was the Rockville Bank Scrabble Team. More than $11,000 was raised at the event to help fund the recruitment and training of tutors, as well as to purchase supplies. Over 200 people and 23 teams participated. The Scrabble Challenge, held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Enfield, provides visibility and creditability for the group and helps to build relationships with local businesses. Coincidently, the 2009 Rockville Bank Scrabble Team scored 2,009 points! Rockville Bank’s winning streak also includes 1st Place Championship Teams in 2005 and 2007!
