ENFIELD—Allied’s
Attic Thrift Store
at 581 Enfield
Street celebrated
its third
anniversary August
20. In recognition,
Enfield Mayor Scott
Kaupin presented a
Town Proclamation to
thrift store Manager
Marisol Suarez and
Store Associate
Martin Cruz at a
meeting of the
Enfield Rotary Club
on August 25.
The
proclamation
applauds Allied’s
Attic for the
employment
opportunities it
provides to
individuals with
developmental
disabilities. In
addition, it cites
Allied
Rehabilitation
Centers’ philosophy
of giving back to
the community and
other not-for-profit
organizations. The
store periodically
features popular
dollar clothing
sales, has supported
the Enfield Social
Services Department
and area shelters
with emergency
clothing and
supplies, and
donates excess items
to Big Brothers &
Big Sisters.
Mayor Kaupin also
commended Allied's
Attic for winning
the award for “Most
Patriotic Float” in
this year's
Independence Day
Celebration parade.
On behalf of the
Town Council and
Town Administration,
he congratulated
Allied’s Attic
Thrift Store “for
their dedication to
citizens” and urged
“the citizens of
Enfield to
congratulate them on
their third
anniversary.”
Suarez was guest
speaker at the
Rotary meeting. She
showed a video of
the thrift store and
the new
donation-processing
center established
by Allied at 294
George Washington
Road. Thanks to the
additional space at
the processing
center, Allied's
Attic is now
accepting donations
of furniture. She
noted that the store
also offers curbside
pickups of
furniture, clothing
and household items
in the Enfield area.
