1994, The
Connecticut Breast
Cancer Coalition
Foundation (CBCCF)
is a nonprofit,
grassroots
organization created
to support the fight
against breast
cancer. CBCCF is a
coalition of
individuals--breast
cancer survivors and
those who love them,
as well as medical
professionals,
government officials
and business
leaders-- who are
joined in their
concern over the
breast cancer
epidemic in the
state of
Connecticut. We are
dedicated to the
eradication of
breast cancer
through education,
program outreach,
and support for
advocacy and
research efforts.
When a woman
diagnosed with
breast cancer has to
undergo treatment,
her life is changed.
Most women in
treatment must still
care for their
families, shop,
cook, and clean.
Many women must
continue to work
during treatment and
some may not be able
to work for a period
of time. Frequently,
the treatment
creates a new set of
financial burdens.
To help ease these
burdens, The
Connecticut Breast
Cancer Coalition
Foundation has
established an
Emergency Fund to
help women in
Connecticut who are
dealing with a
breast cancer
diagnosis and
treatment.
The CBCCF
Emergency Fund
provides financial
assistance for
non-medical expenses
to women who are
breast cancer
patients with
demonstrated
financial need.
Applicants must be
undergoing acute
breast cancer
treatment such as IV
chemotherapy,
radiation therapy or
surgery. Emergency
Fund grants may be
used for babysitting
expenses associated
with healthcare
needs, food,
specialty bras and
prosthesis,
transportation to
doctor's
appointments, rent,
utilities, and other
basic needs. The
CBCCF Emergency Fund
offers hope, support
and empowerment to
women at a critical
juncture in their
battle against
breast cancer.
