appointment of
insurance executive
Michael D. Rabbett
to chair SSCSPAC 's
Development
Committee . Rabbett
is owner of Rabbett
Insurance in
Windsor,
Connecticut,
recipient of the
Windsor Chamber of
Commerce 2008
Business of the Year
Award, and is a
member of the
Professional
Insurance Agents and
Independent
Insurance Agents of
Connecticut. He is
also a Certified
Insurance Counselor
for the State of
Connecticut.
According to
DeMallie - " Through
his leadership of
our fundraising
efforts, Mike is
dedicated to
positioning SS&C
SummerWind as the
premier outdoor
performing arts
venue in Metro
Hartford/Springfield.
His record of
charitable and civic
involvement is
commendable,
including current
service on the
boards of Windsor
Federal Savings and
the Windsor
Historical Society.
Mike has served as
president of the
Windsor Jaycees,
Windsor Chamber, the
Huntington House
Museum, is past
Exalted Ruler of
BPOE 2060 , and has
chaired the Windsor
Shad Derby eight
times. Our
organization has
been greatly
enhanced with this
appointment. Among
his first actions
has been to appoint
Hartford Attorney
Lori Clark to chair
his Corporate
Sponsorship
subcommittee."
SS&C
SummerWind
Performing Arts
Center is a 5,000
seat outdoor
performing arts
center in Windsor's
Griffin Center
business park. The
ten acre campus
features a signature
tent covering the
stage and 1,500
luxury seats. A
beautiful sloping
lawn seats an
additional
2,500-3,500 guests.
Past performers have
included such Grammy
Award winning jazz
and Americana
legends as Wynton
Marsalis, Dave
Brubeck, Bruce
Hornsby, Roberta
Flack, Judy Collins,
and many regional
favorites including
the Hartford
Symphony Orchestra.
SSCSPAC is one of
the few debt-free
nonprofits in the
region. It is
embarking on a $1.3
million capital
campaign in advance
of its 2010 summer
season. The campaign
has recently
received a $500,000
leadership grant
from William and
Mary Stone. William
Stone is the CEO of
SS&C Technologies.
