IT’S OUR 50TH ANNIVERSARY April 24, 1970 the Rotary Club of East Windsor was officially established with tremendous support from the East Windsor community. At one point we had more than 40 members representing many East Windsor and neighboring businesses and organizations.
Now in our 50th anniversary year, we need a different type of support. For the first time in 50 years, we are operating with less than 10 members making fundraising and projects more difficult.
We want you to consider becoming a member to pass East Windsor Rotary on to the future and continue projects that support not only East Windsor but global partners as well.
Locally, we have supported scholarships to further our students education, dictionaries for every 3rd grade students for approximately 20 years
, “Adopt a Family”, “Shop with a Cop” and fuel assistance for families in need at holiday time, gazebos at Park Hill for seniors and at Broad Brook Pond, lighting at Reservoir Park and more.Globally, we have made substantial contributions to the eradication of polio and other childhood diseases and clean water and sanitation projects.
The Rotary Foundation’s mission is to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education and the alleviation of poverty. We are committed to help with that mission.
If you’ve heard that it is difficult to become and remain a Rotarian, rules have changed to meet the today’s needs. Weekly attendance is no longer mandatory and companies are encouraged to join as a corporate member, having different employees participate as their representative at meetings.
Rotary is looking for people with a desire to give back to their community both locally and globally, however, the real benefit is the feeling one gets when we help make our world a little better because of our contributions.
We meet Thursdays at the Nutmeg Restaurant at 6:30 pm. Come join us for dinner and see what we are about; consider joining us to help continue our ability to give while having fun.Rotary Club of East Windsor.
