Keystone Revisited – Connecticut – ft. members of JGB, Further, Phil and Friends, Saunders’ son @ Broad Brook Opera House
Apr 15 @ 7:00 pm – 11:30 pm

Keystone Revisited celebrates the music created by Jerry Garcia and keyboard player Merl Saunders at the intimate Keystone club in Berkeley, CA—a regular venue for the Jerry Garcia Band.

From 1971-1975, Merl and Jerry often played live shows together when the Grateful Dead was not on tour. The recordings (and lore surrounding these shows) have stood the test of time and showcase a love for inspired cover songs and spacy jazz-rock fusion.

Keystone Revisited is led by Merl’s son Tony on bass and guitarist Zach Nugent (Jerry Garcia Band, Dead Set). The all-star band is rounded out by keyboard player Scott Guberman (Phil Lesh), Sunshine Garcia Becker (Furthur, Jerry Garcia Band), and Cotter Ellis (Swimmer, Dead Set).

Bella’s Bartok at the Broad Brook Opera House! @ Broad Brook Opera House
Apr 16 @ 8:00 pm – 11:30 pm

Bella’s Bartok!

All little children grow up, one day — all except the bedazzled and glittered boys of Bella’s Bartok. Inspired by elements of Vaudeville, centuries of street performance, and an unyielding drive to promote camaraderie, Northampton, MA-based Bella’s Bartok delivers a passionate kaleidoscope of sound. The songs are born of Americana and folk music of their immigrant grandparents, blended with the joy of a particular brand of pop sensibility. Their performances are at once a primal stand against oppression and a declaration of joy in the face of adversity. From quiet reflections on loss, to the howl of justice in four-part harmony, Bella’s Bartok sonically and lyrically delivers a sweaty, soulful dance-party that is sure to leave the audience happily breathless.
