Parent’s Night Out!                                                                                                                       

Drop the kids off and finish that last minute holiday shopping, or simply enjoy a few moments to yourself.  Kids will have dinner, play games and make some holiday crafts.  Children should be potty-trained and pre-registration is required.  Program will take place at the East Windsor Senior Center (125 Main Street, Broad Brook).

Date:   Friday, December 21st               Ages:  4-10                  Time:  5:00-8:00pm                         Fee:  $10.00 per child

Annual Torchlight Parade & Carol Sing                                                                      

This great family event features kid’s activities, hay rides, carol singing and even a visit from Santa himself!  Parade will step off from the Middle School at 5:30pm.  Kids’ activities at Broad Brook Fire House will commence at 6:15pm.  Refreshments will be served and raffle tickets will also be sold during this event.                                                                                                      Dates:  Saturday, December 22nd            Time:  Parade begins at 5:30pm

Fee:  We ask that you bring a non-perishable food item to benefit 5 Corner Cupboard

Open Skate

Join us at Enfield Twin Rinks for this annual family-friendly event.  Once again, East Windsor Parks & Recreation will be reserving a rink for open skate during December break.  This is a great event for the entire family- rent skates, or bring your own!

Date: Wednesday, December 26           Time:  11:00 am-1:00 pm

$5.00 Fee per Skater – pay at the door!                 Skate Rentals available on a first come, first serve basis – $3.00 per rental

Winter Yoga w/ Diane Ross                                                                                                     Join yoga instructor Diane Ross for 8 weeks of yoga!  Choose to attend once a week or both days.  Registration forms must be filled out and checks can be made payable to Diane Ross. Online registration is available.                                                                                                                                   Dates:  Mondays:  1/7 – 3/11 (No 1/21, 2/18)   Wednesdays:  1/9 – 2/27          Time:  6:15pm-7:30pm

Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead Using LEGO at East Windsor Middle School                                         

Children are working with standard LEGO materials on challenges and problem solving related to pre-engineering concepts involving structure, levers, gears, pulleys, and other elements of simple and complex machines.  Late Bus will be available.                                                                                                Dates:  1/10 – 2/28                 Ages: 10-12                   Time:  Thursdays 3:00-4:00pm                      Fee:  $120.00

 Hobby Quest – Magic!                                                                                   

Abracadabra!  You will be transformed when you learn to perform tricks with Magic Masters this fall!  The Disappearing Deck, Three Magic Wands and Coin Increasing Bag are just a few of the astounding tricks you will learn in this exciting program.  Class is designed to enhance communication and performance skills in a supportive, creative atmosphere.                                                               Dates:  Thursdays 1/10 – 2/28                Grades: K-4                  Time:  3:45pm-4:45pm                     Fee:  $120.00

Babysitting 101 Course at East Windsor Middle School

For youth 10-15 years of age.  This is an entry level course intended to teach age appropriate skills necessary to care for children of all ages using team babysitting, mother’s helper and individual babysitting   concepts.  The course focuses on safety with emphasis on prevention.  Basic first aid and obstructed airway management for a conscious choking adult/child and infant will be covered.  Other topics include hand washing, diapering, bottle feeding, personal safety, interview skills and many more topics.  Booklet, handouts and Babysitter Safety Certificate of completion included.                                                                 Dates:  January 15th & 16th                  Ages:  10-15+                Time:  3:00pm-5:00pm                   Fee:  $43.00

Babysitting 102 Course at East Windsor Middle School

For youth 12-16 years of age who have a sincere interest in advanced concepts and skills of First Aid including CPR Certification.  Building on the entry level skills from Babysitting 101, objectives for this scenario based, expanded course includes First Aid concept, Adult/Child and Infant CPR.  Requires written and skills testing to receive 2 year certification.  Prerequisite:  Babysitter Safety 101 within last 365 days

Date: Tuesday, January 22nd                Ages:  12-16+                Time:  3:00pm-6:00pm                   Fee:  $43.00

Afterschool Yoga at East Windsor Middle School                                                                     

Join certified Yoga Instructor Lori Myrick as she gives participants the tools to build a healthy mind/body connection in a fun and playful manner.  Participants should bring comfortable clothes, a yoga mat and bottle of water.                                                       Dates:  1/15 – 2/26 (No 2/19)                                Grades: 5-8                   Time:  Tuesdays 3:00-4:00pm          Fee:  $65.00

Crazy 8’s Math Club at Broad Brook School                                                                                            This program will re-introduce participants to the fun that can accompany math! Participants will build stuff, run, jump, make music and make a mess all while learning valuable math lessons.  It’s math gone wild!  This is the third session of a five part                      program, so those who participated last year will see different activities.                                                                                   Dates:  1/15 – 2/26 (No 2/19)                        Grades: K-2                     Time:  Tuesdays 3:00-4:00pm                    Fee:  $15.00
