Tonight I signed an executive order taking several other actions on COVID-19 including:
– Allowing Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) to limit the number of people at state parks and beaches in order to allow for adequate social distancing. We want people to enjoy fresh air and recreation, but it must be done safely!
– Requiring public school staff (such as teachers, cafeteria workers, custodial staff, nurses, paraeducators, clerical staff, bus drivers, and others) to continue to be paid while schools are closed. We need them back when schools re-open. They’re there for our kids, we need to be there for them!
