We started planting cut flower plugs into our High Tunnel today. A High Tunnel is basically a greenhouse with no heat source other than the sun. We use it for season extension, meaning we can plant earlier in the spring and harvest later into the fall. We can get two full crop rotations using the same space. This early in the season we will monitor overnight temperatures and use row cover if we have to, to protect the plants. Since the crops inside get no moisture from rain, we use drip irrigation.
