Dance Recital 2018

The East Windsor Parks & Recreation Dance Program is gearing up for their annual recital!  This year’s theme is “Battle of the Bands.”  The show will take place on Saturday, May 12th at East Windsor High School – doors open at 5:30pm, show starts at 6:00pm.  Tickets are $3.00 per person and can be bought at the door.  For more information please call 860-627-6662.

Kids’ Fishing Derby

The Broad Brook Angling Club will host their annual Kids’ Fishing Derby at East Windsor Park on Saturday, May 5th.  This event is free for kids 15 years of age or younger.  Prizes will be awarded for first fish caught, largest fish caught, and first person to catch their 4 fish limit in each age group.  Participants must supply their own bait, and lures will not be allowed.  Registration starts at 7:00am, fishing runs from 8:00am-11:00am.

Spring Yoga

East Windsor Parks and Recreation is accepting registrations for Spring Yoga with Diane Ross. Mondays: April 2nd -June 4th (no class May 28 due to the school being closed for the Memorial Day Holiday)

Wednesdays: April 4th -May 30th

Time and Location: 6:15 pm-7:30 pm, East Windsor Middle School Health Room

Cost:   Residents: $30 once per week; $45 twice per week

 Non-Residents: $35 once per week; $50 twice per week

Walk-ins are also welcome at a rate of $5 per class

Please register prior to the first day of class.

Futsal Soccer – Grades 1-4

East Windsor Parks & Recreation will be working with Futsal & Street Soccer this spring to provide clinics for those interested in the sport of soccer.  This program is a major step in developing players’ Ball Skills and Increase Ball Confidence that they can bring back to their School, Town and Club Soccer!!  Price includes FSS Shirt (please indicate shirt size at time of registration.)

Dates: Tuesdays, April 24th-June 5th                                         Ages:  Grades 1-4

Time: 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm                                                         Fee:   $70.00

Program will be held on the outdoor fields at Broad Brook Elementary School.

Jumping Clay- Down on the Farm

Jumping Clay is an air-drying polymer clay that is 100% safe, non-toxic and completely mess free!   Each participant will create their own 3D farm display including landscape and animals such as pigs, cows, and ducks using Jumping Clay and while learning about basic shapes and color mixing. Beginners are welcome!!

Dates: Tuesdays, May 8-May 29                                                 Ages:  Grades K-4

Time: 3:45 pm -4:45 pm                                                             Fee:   $60.00

Program will be held in the art room at Broad Brook Elementary School.

 Jackie G’s Weekly Cruise Night

Head over to East Windsor Park Tuesdays during the summer for a great family fun event!

Each week there is food, a DJ, raffles, and trophies.  There are theme nights on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

Dates: Tuesdays starting May 15th

Time:   5:00pm until dusk                                                                                                    

East Windsor Parks & Recreation maintains two pavilions which are available for rentals both in season and out of season at East Windsor Park.  Both pavilions are under the same roof and separated by the kitchen area and rest rooms.  They are identified as South & North.  Each pavilion has its own kitchen with sink and refrigerator (no stove); an outside triple charcoal grill (you supply your own charcoal); a ball field; volleyball court; playground swings; shuffleboard court and horseshoe pit.  Visit www.eastwindsorrec.com to view availability and reserve dates for use of the pavilion.

 2018 CIT (Counselor-In-Training) Program

East Windsor Parks & Recreation is seeking teens aged 14-16 to work as CIT’s during Summer Camp 2018.  Successful CIT’s are given priority when seeking open paid counselor positions when they become available.  Applications and references due by May 14th.  Call 860-627-6662 or visit www.eastwindsorrec.com for necessary paperwork and registration.

2018 Summer Fun Camp

This program is open to children 4-13 years of age.  Campers will spend the day at East Windsor Park engaged in a variety of activities – including swim time, crafts, group games, and weekly field trips.  Registration will open on May 1st.  New this year we will have a ninth week which will be a smaller post-camp limited to 30 campers.

Dates: 9 weeks of camp- 6/26 through 8/24

Times: Regular Day (9:00am-3:00pm) or Extended Day (7:30am-5:00pm)

Cost: $150.00 Regular Day/$170.00 Extended Day

2018 Swim Lessons at East Windsor Park

Swim lessons will be taught by Red Cross certified instructors and will adhere to the Red Cross Learn to Swim curriculum.  In addition to Levels 1-4, we will also be offering Water Tot & Preschool classes.  Lessons will be broken up into four 2-week sessions.  Classes will be held Mondays-Thursdays, with Fridays being reserved for weather-related makeups.  Registration will open on May 1st.  Please visit www.eastwindsorrec.com for level descriptions and session dates.

*New* Teen Swim Lessons at East Windsor Park

These lessons are targeted specifically for teens (ages 12-17) who are interested in learning to swim or who may have a fear of water.  Taught by a Red Cross instructor, students will learn with peers in the same age group.  End goals include creating a solid foundation for swimming and safety skills.  Classes will be held on Tuesdays & Thursdays over the course of two sessions.  Please visit www.eastwindsorrec.com for session dates and registration information.
