1st Thursday was a Great Monthly Membership Meeting with State Representative Jaime Foster as the Guest Speaker.

Others in attendance this morning were folks from the The Barn Storage, CAD Luxury Event Center, Budget Blinds Of Enfield ,East Windsor Public Schools, Design Professionals and Broad Brook Library.
It started with everyone giving their “Elevator Promo” of the Business or group the represented.
Then Discussion was had in regards to possible suggested changes to the Commercial Corridors zoning and sign regulations. (RTE 5 & 140 and Warehouse Point district).
Executive Jim Richards reported that some discussions have recently been had at Planning & Zoning and while not all favorable the conversation has begun.
Also was discussed how do we encourage New Businesses to come to Our Community to grow the Grand List and provide much needed tax dollars to eventually provide relief to All Taxpayers.
Discussion was also had on how we need to improve Our Towns Infrastructure/Housing to continue to have a strong middle class of taxpayers.
All agreed that the New Community Center is one of the steps in improving that infrastructure.
Many present were glad to see that the Town Budget had passed but are concerned about next year and the possible use of 2% failsafe.
Richards encourages Businesses to reach out to the Town with any suggestions and/or complaints in regards to signage ,zoning, budgets, infrastructure etc.
Representative Foster spoke on happenings at the Capitol which many found interesting including some comments about how the legislators are continuing to work to make a better Business Climate in Connecticut.
The EWCC Thanks Representative Foster for participating in Our Meeting and certainly will be welcome back in the future.
