 : The Five Corner Cupboard Food Pantry has been a life saver for families in need for quite some time now. They help around 200 families with essential food and bathroom needs that they struggle to provide for themselves on a weekly basis. Since COVID, we have collected nearly 100,000 lbs of food. I have no doubt we will break that benchmark this year. Goal this year is 20,000 lbs of donations. That will definitely clear 100k.m lbs.
With big donation numbers brings longer hours for the Scouts and
Volunteers. The drive doesn’t end for some of us once the church is loaded. There is still more work to be done sorting and checking dates. The Scouts and the pantry and putting out a call for help again. If you need community service hours for any reason, Marie or myself can sign off on them. Depends who you help. If you dont need hours and just want to help, you may also contact me. I won’t say no, I promise. I have routs that will need covering to drop off and then pick up the bags and deliver to the church. Marie also needs help in the church with various tasks that day and even after when its time to move the donations to the pantry.
The Scouts took to the streets the weekend of October 24th and will be out again  when they pick up on November 1st. Pick up begins at 9 and lasts until 2.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, if your front porch can’t be seen from the road, place your bags at the end of your driveway. I know we bring the flyer to the door, but it makes pick up so much easier if we dont have to run up and down every driveway with bags and boxes full of food.
Thank you everyone for your continued support! We will see you out there in a few short weeks! Don’t forget to honk and wave when you see them out there. Show these kids the town supports our youth making a difference in their town.
