CONNECTICUT TROLLEY MUSEUM RECEIVES CONNECTICUT CULTURAL FUND OPERATING SUPPORT GRANT FROM CONNECTICUT HUMANITIES

EAST WINDSOR, CONN., Jan 21st, 2022The Connecticut Trolley Museum in East Windsor, Conn. has been awarded a $29,400 CT Cultural Fund Operating Support Grant from Connecticut Humanities.

Connecticut Humanities is the statewide, nonprofit affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. The Trolley Museum was one of 624 organizations in Connecticut that was awarded CT Cultural Fund support totaling $16M. The funding has been allocated by the Connecticut State Legislature and approved by the Governor to assist arts, humanities and cultural nonprofit institutions as they recover from the pandemic and maintain and grow their ability to serve their community and the public.

“Not only will this funding help to stabilize our finances, but it will support the creation of a new staff position to better serve our visitors”, stated Gina Maria Alimberti, the Museum’s Executive Director. “Increasing the quality of the visitor experience is our primary goal and we expect to achieve this by creating a new visitor services program, adding more exhibits and offering more programs and activities for our customers. Ours is the oldest incorporated trolley museum in the nation with an operating fleet of vintage trolley cars with an average of 103 years old. We are almost fully recovered from the pandemic and are looking forward to a very busy year.”

The Connecticut Trolley Museum is located at 58 North Road (Rt. 140) and is a short 15 minutes north of Hartford or a short 15 minutes south of Springfield. For more information, please call the business office at 860-627-6540 or visit our website at www.ct-trolley.org.
