This past  Saturday, our department participated in the second annual town-wide Emergency Management drill.
This included the Warehouse Point FD, Broad Brook FD, East Windsor Ambulance as well as our towns CERT team.
Prior to joining EWPD, my knowledge of Emergency Management consisted of operations only.
Now, as the designated EM Deputy Director, I have to manage a multitude of responsibilities that go beyond showing up and performing a task.
Training & tactics have always been a strong point so planning, organizing and facilitating this event is/was a labor of love.
I’m grateful for our town’s partnership with both Fire Departments (Warehouse Point & Broad Brook ) , East Windsor Ambulance service as well as town officials who see the value in this training to fund and allow it to continue (now yearly).
As the saying goes, “By failing to prepare, you are preparing for failure”.
