Hello Friends of the Trolley,

Let’s keep the Trolley Museum moving forward! Thanks to the generosity of our donors – businesses, individuals, private foundations, and with help from local, State and Federal agencies we were able to accomplish a significant amount of work this year all for the betterment of the Museum.

We are asking you to consider making a year- end gift so that we can continue on our current path of improvements and additions.

The Connecticut Trolley Museum is a cultural and historic treasure and your gift will help to ensure that the Museum will continue to thrive. If you have already contributed, thank you! If not or if you wish to make an additional gift that would be greatly appreciated.

During this year we have made significant progress in restoring Connecticut Company Trolley Car 3001 with considerable interior carpentry work being completed. We are overhauling the 97 year old Springfield Electric Trolley Car, which includes a new roof, all new electrical wiring, new bushings, new leaf springs and repairs on the trucks. Yard clean-up work continues with the large doors on two of our trolley barns being re-painted. A Lego play station for our younger visitors has been funded and will be constructed in the new year. We are in the midst of energy efficiency upgrades, already having re-lamped the Museum and now we are working on a heating and cooling system for the office. An engineering firm has been hired to plan for the new paved parking lot with work expected to begin in the Spring.

As many of you know, we have been deaccessing our collection. We recently deaccessed our Canadian Box Car 6714 to the Halton County Radial Museum in Rockwood, Ontario. In November, they relocated the Box Car to their Museum to be cosmetically restored and maybe some day run again. The car has an abundance amount of Canadian history, having been built in Toronto, and served Montréal commuters for many decades. The Box Car is now home.

There is much more planned for 2024. We have a hard-working Board of Directors and a dedicated volunteer crew who help with all aspects of the Museum’s operations. We can assure you that your contribution will be put to good use.

All donations are tax deductible.

Thank you very much for your consideration, and Happy Holidays!

Sincerely The Connecticut Trolley Museum
