October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Many Officers will be wearing a purple ribbon on their uniform to show support for victims and raise awareness about the issue. We want victims to know that no one needs to live in fear and that we are here to help.
Domestic violence is not a family issue, it is a crime. According to the National Coalition of Domestic Violence, 24 people per minute are victims of rape, physical violence or stalking by their partner in the United States.
We are committed to improving our efforts to prevent domestic violence while also ensuring offenders are held accountable.
