Our Philosophy
We strive to build and support our community through encouragement and education. We believe that pottery is both an art and a craft. We are continuously educating ourselves, sharing that knowledge, and applying it toward the betterment of our community.
Our Studio
Our studio is bright, welcoming, well-equipped, and clean.
We have Shimpo VL-Whisper wheels, a slab roller, a 4″ extruder, banding wheels, a generous stock of basic pottery tools available for anyone in the studio to use, and a large array of forms, molds, cutters, stamps, texture rollers and other materials.
We take the issues of dust and air cleanliness very seriously. We use wet cleaning procedures, require members and students to properly clean up after themselves, and clean and neaten multiple times per week.
We carry a wide range of cone 6 clays from Kentucky Mudworks, and dozens of studio mixed glazes to pick from. We don’t allow outside clay, but we do allow for people to use their own commercial glazes.
Firing and glazing are included with clay purchases.
Our Community
Our community is fun-loving, uplifting, gently bullying (with love!), endlessly enabling to the point of being a terrible influence, often irreverent, and occasionally quite fresh. The age restriction is there for a reason! But we won’t let you get down on yourself or your art, and we’ll help you brainstorm to make your most outlandish ideas a reality!
