Library Trustee
\nAccountable to: <\/strong><\/div>\n
The Taxpayers and the People served by the library
\nResponsible for: <\/strong><\/div>\n
Working with other board members to oversee the library, establish policy and plans, determine the final budget and conduct public relations.
\nDuties:<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Attends and participates in all board meetings
\n\u2022 Reads board meeting minutes and other materials sent out before the board meeting
\n\u2022 Becomes informed about all phases of library operation
\n\u2022 Serves on committees as assigned by the board chair
\n\u2022 Lends expertise and leadership to the board for the good of the library
\n\u2022 Actively participates in activities and workshops
\n\u2022 Helps to secure adequate municipal funding for the library
\n\u2022 Participates in fundraising activities
\n\u2022 Visits the library often
\nQualifications:<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Appreciation of the library and a desire to provide the best possible library service for the community
\n\u2022 Willingness to be a team player
\n\u2022 Ability to work with people
\n\u2022 Ability to plan
\n\u2022 Ability to put aside personal preferences for the greater good of the library
\nTime requirements:<\/strong>
\n\u2022 We have a monthly meeting on the last Wednesday of the month at 6 pm. Board members are strongly encouraged to join in person, but if circumstances require, you can join via Zoom.
\n\u2022 Dependent on committees and individual volunteering, you may need to spend some hours outside of the meetings working on behalf of the library. For example: Garden Committee members sometimes
\nneed to meet with contractors or call garden stores.<\/div>\n
