A Message from Deputy Chief Ben Murphy-\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0“We are very excited to announce that we\u2019ve re-established a Cadet program here at the East Windsor Police Department”.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The Cadet (formally Explorer) program has not been in effect in East Windsor for over twenty years.\u00a0 This program is available to kids from 12-20 years old.\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 We will be meeting bi-monthly to learn all facets of law enforcement, practice and train on safety and community engagement.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0We anticipate having our Cadet\u2019s become integral parts of our community and make their presence known at future community events.<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0There are many police departments in the state who maintain Cadet\/Explorer programs and one thing we all share in common is a Funding without using tax dollars.<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Some departments elect to charge participants or instill dues, however, here in East Windsor \u2013 we are electing to admit all kids free of charge.\u00a0 We wouldn\u2019t want to deny a kid an opportunity due to money concerns.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Here in lies the problem, it is nearly $1,000 to outfit a Cadet as well as the residual training\/academy opportunities that will be afforded to them in the coming year.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0We are asking all East Windsor Residents & Businesses to consider making a donation to this cause.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0100% of all proceeds go towards outfitting, training and equipping our Cadets.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n
