The Broad Brook Library is a free public library that has been open to the public since 1919. Dropped from the town budget in 2016 and 2017, we are now operating through donations from the private sector. Stop by to pick up a good book to read.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

It is easy to pass the Broad Brook Library without even noticing it. In the middle of Main Street, Broad Brook, this unassuming white building looks like a reminder of our town\u2019s past. However it is a working library; free to the public since 1919.
\nThe Broad Brook Library has maintained its commitment to bring a variety of new books to the public. Our small library offers a little bit of everything: classic and modern children\u2019s books, fiction, non-fiction, cook books, history books, biographies, and new fiction. You won\u2019t find a computer here, but you will find the perfect book to explore.
\nLifelong Broad Brook resident, Beryl Wilson, was the librarian for 20 years. She greeted everyone with a warm welcome and remembered her regular customers by name. The library is decorated with paintings by Virginia W. Schoenleher, Beryl\u2019s first grade teacher; a woman who inspired her students to read with a classroom reading contest. Beryl read the most books in her class that year and won a tennis racket and two balls for the achievement.
\nAs Beryl recovers from some medical issues and to help expand the library\u2019s hours, we have added Patricia Shary to our library staff. Patricia is always happy to welcome you to the library and to help you find what you need.
\nThe town has cut the Broad Brook Library\u2019s budget for many years, eliminating funding completely in 2016. Our little library stays open through the help of local businesses and neighbors as we operate on rapidly shrinking funds. We are working on some fundraisers to help keep this still used and useful piece of history open.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
