{"id":5136,"date":"2019-11-15T08:46:16","date_gmt":"2019-11-15T13:46:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.eastwindsorchamber.com\/site\/?p=5136"},"modified":"2019-11-15T08:46:17","modified_gmt":"2019-11-15T13:46:17","slug":"winterfest-2019-with-special-events","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eastwindsorchamber.com\/site\/winterfest-2019-with-special-events\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Winterfest 2019&#8221; with Special Events"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The Connecticut Trolley Museum presents Winterfest 2019 and the \u201cTunnel of Lights\u201d beginning Friday, November 29<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Winterfest will be open from 5PM until 9PM Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights from Thanksgiving through New Year\u2019s Eve.\u00a0 Santa will be onsite in a historic caboose for photos and to give a small gift to each child until he has to fly back to the North Pole on Christmas Eve.\u00a0 Admission prices\u00a0are $15 for adults, $14 for seniors (62+), $11 for children (ages 4-12), $4 for children (3 &amp; under).\u00a0 Museum Members receive half off admission.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><br \/>\nAbout Winterfest and the \u201cTunnel of Lights\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Winterfest and the \u201cTunnel of Lights\u201d is celebrating its 41<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0operating year as a family holiday tradition.\u00a0 Halls are decked both inside and outside with over 15,000 light bulbs.\u00a0 Outside, closed trolley cars transport jolly guests down a tunnel of lights as they sing traditional Christmas Carols with their trolley car operators.\u00a0 For an open air view of the \u201cTunnel of Lights,\u201d one open sleigh car is lit up entirely with holiday lights.\u00a0 Be sure to dress warm and bring blankets. Inside the Visitor Center is a Winter Wonderland where Santa meets and greets children inside a historic caboose.\u00a0 Multiple model train layouts, both large and small are located in the main hall, along with more full scale trolleys.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><u>Winterfest 1\/2 Off Admission Stuff a Cruiser Toy Drive- December 8<sup>th<\/sup>, 2019<br \/>\n<\/u><\/strong>The Connecticut Trolley Museum is teaming up with the East Windsor Police Department &amp; East Windsor Social Services with a Stuff a Cruiser Toy Drive on Sunday, December 8th from 5pm-9pm. The Toys will benefit East Windsor Families that are in need through Social Services.\u00a0<strong>Every toy donated will honor half price admission to Winterfest and the Tunnel of Lights<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><u>Storytime Trolley with Santa &amp; Friends<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><u>December 14<sup>th<\/sup>, 2019<\/u><\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Connecticut Trolley Museum presents Storytime Trolley with Santa &amp; Friends.\u00a0This unique daytime holiday\u00a0program has been specially designed to provide an outstanding &amp; festive holiday experience for families with children.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors will enjoy a ride in a decorated vintage trolley car where Santa will visit with each child. Also, while on board Santa\u2019s elf will read Tooth Fairy vs Santa a story written by local author Jamie Deenihan from Suffield, CT. After listening to the story Santa will present each child with a special gift.\u00a0Following the Trolley ride, Museum guests will head to the Visitors Center for Hot Cocoa and cookies. The Visitors Center will have been transformed into a Winter Wonderland with multiple model train layouts, holiday lights galore and a photo opportunity with Frosty the Snowman.\u00a0Storytime Trolley with Santa &amp; Friends will be held only on one day December 14th with ticket sales starting at 9am. Admission prices are $24 per person (for any age).
