Unfortunately, the number of positive cases and deaths associated with the coronavirus continue to increase in Connecticut, albeit at a slower pace over the last couple of days, so please continue to practice social distancing and stay safe when in public.

NEW DATA
Since yesterday’s update, an additional 412 positive COVID-19 cases have been reported in Connecticut, bringing the statewide total to 17,550, including a total of 21 confirmed cases in East Windsor (+1) and now 22 (an adjustment down of 1 since yesterday) confirmed cases in Ellington. No new COVD-19 associated fatalities were reported in East Windsor and Ellington in today’s data.

To date, more than 59,759 patients have been tested in Connecticut (+1,546 since yesterday). Approximately 1,901 patients are currently hospitalized (net -37 since yesterday). The total statewide total number of COVID-19 associated fatalities is 1,127 (+41 since yesterday). The Governor’s Office notes that the day-to-day changes reflect newly reported cases, deaths, and tests that occurred over the last several days to week.

ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR NURSING HOMES

Nursing homes continue to grapple with increasing COVID-19 cases and deaths across Connecticut. Governor Lamont announced that the state is boosting Medicaid payments for all of the state’s 215 nursing homes by an additional five percent above the recently announced ten percent increase to help offset the growing costs experienced by these facilities that serve our most vulnerable.

CT MEMBERS OF REGIONAL COUNCIL TO RESTART THE ECONOMY ANNOUNCED
Today, Governor Lamont appointed the following residents to represent Connecticut on the regional, multi-state council to restore the economy and get people back to work.
