TODAY’S UPDATE (5\/15): Continued Decline in Hospitalizations\/ Thermometers Available for Small Businesses, Nonprofits, & Places of Worship\/ New Nursing Home & Assisted Living Facility Data<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

This week we show our appreciation for law enforcement across our great nation, and a special recognition to those who made the ultimate sacrifice protecting us. As someone who has a number of family members who currently or have served in law enforcement, may I express a heartfelt thank you to every member of our law enforcement community and to their families.<\/p>\n

Since yesterday\u2019s update, an additional 621 positive COVID-19 cases have been reported in Connecticut, bringing the statewide total to 36,085 since the start of the outbreak, including a total of 126 confirmed cases in East Windsor (no change since yesterday) with 85 of those confirmed cases at the Fresh River Nursing Home and 44 confirmed cases in Ellington (+1 since yesterday) with 6 of those cases at the Ivy assisted living facility. The total COVID-19 associated fatalities of residents reported in East Windsor is now at 14 associated deaths (+1 since yesterday) with 5 of those confirmed deaths and 4 probable deaths associated with COVD-19 at the Fresh River Nursing Home and Ellington has not changed (still at 4 resident deaths for several days) with 2 of those deaths of patients at the Ivy assisted living facility according to today’s state data.<\/p>\n

1,1,033 patients are currently being hospitalized with COVID-19 statewide (net decline of 70 since yesterday), including currently only one COVID patient in a Tolland County hospitals.<\/p>\n

To date, a total of 155,908 tests have been performed in Connecticut (+6,346 since yesterday).<\/p>\n

The total statewide number of COVID-19 associated fatalities is now 3,285 (+66 since yesterday). The Governor’s Office notes that the day-to-day changes are preliminary and reflect newly reported cases, deaths, and tests that occurred over the last several days to week.<\/p>\n

Please continue to practice social distancing.<\/p>\n

THERMOMETERS AVAILABLE FOR SMALL BUSINESSES, NONPROFITS, & PLACES OF WORSHIP<\/p>\n

The State of Connecticut will be distributing 50,000 infrared thermometers it has secured for small businesses, nonprofits, and places of worship to support safe reopening activities amid the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

Entities that would like to request a thermometer can fill out the forms located at\u00a0www.ct.gov\/coronavirus<\/a>\u00a0in the \u201cAccess to Personal Protective Equipment\u201d section.<\/p>\n
