{"id":8213,"date":"2022-09-14T11:01:48","date_gmt":"2022-09-14T15:01:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eastwindsorchamber.com\/site\/?p=8213"},"modified":"2022-09-14T11:01:48","modified_gmt":"2022-09-14T15:01:48","slug":"pumpkin-patch-rails-to-darkside-and-street-art-meets-street-railcars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eastwindsorchamber.com\/site\/pumpkin-patch-rails-to-darkside-and-street-art-meets-street-railcars\/","title":{"rendered":"Pumpkin Patch, Rails to Darkside and Street Art meets Street Railcars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<u>Pumpkin Patch &amp; Rails to the Darkside<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8083\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eastwindsorchamber.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/ctrd1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1343\" height=\"350\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0The Connecticut Trolley Museum presents Pumpkin Patch &amp; Rails to the Darkside.<\/strong>\u00a0 These two fundraising events are extremely important to funding the museum\u2019s operations. <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8088\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eastwindsorchamber.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/ctrd2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"540\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As the fall chill fills the air, on the darkest of nights, mournful cries of the abandoned dead are heard on the tracks at the Connecticut Trolley Museum.<\/p>\n<p>Come for a scare if you dare&#8230;the next trolley ride is an express to the Darkside!<\/p>\n<p>During this haunted experience, ride vintage trolleys into the dark woods for a fear that you will never forget. Listen to the tale of yesteryear, as you learn of a hastily moved cemetery whose bodies were left behind&#8230;their angry souls seeking their revenge. Will you survive?\u00a0The event will be held on Friday and Saturday nights starting September 30<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>This experience is rated PG-13 and may be too intense for the squeamish. Hours are 7pm-9:30pm (gates open at 6:15pm for ticket sales), tickets must be purchased at\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ct-trolley.org\">http:\/\/www.ct-trolley.org<\/a>. Admission is $25 per person and recommended for ages 16+.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8076\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eastwindsorchamber.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/ctpp1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pumpkin Patch<\/strong> is a family fun filled adventure where you ride on a trolley car out to the pumpkin patch field and each child can pick out a FREE sugar-sized Pumpkin.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, when you return back to the museum campus you can decorate the pumpkins, play in the corn box, enjoy the outside harvest play area, and the museum exhibits and displays. Admission also includes the Fire Truck Museum which is located on the Trolley Museum campus.\u00a0Admission includes the Fire Truck Museum which is housed on the same property as the Trolley Museum.<\/p>\n<p>The event\u00a0will be held on Saturday and Sunday starting September 24th. Visit\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ct-trolley.org\/\">www.ct-trolley.org<\/a>\u00a0for hours of operation and to purchase tickets.<\/p>\n<p>Pumpkin Patch will also be open Monday, Oct. 10<sup>1h<\/sup>\u00a0for Columbus Day. Admission is $14 for Adults, $13 for Seniors, $13 for Youth (ages 12-17), $12 for Children (ages 2-11) &amp; under 2 is free. Museum Members receive half off admission. All activities are included in admission.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note to the Media:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><strong>We are holding our Media Night on Saturday, September 24<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0at 7:00 P.M.\u00a0 The Media will be able experience RAILS TO THE DARKSIDE. To attend please email the Museum at office@ct-trolley.org<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Also we are having a Mural Unveiling of <strong>\u201cStreet Art Meets Street Railcars at the Connecticut Trolley Museum\u201d<\/strong> with the East Windsor Arts &amp; Culture Committee who\u00a0 partnered with RiseUP for Arts and the Connecticut Trolley Museum to create an \u201cInstagrammable\u201d worthy mural in front of the Trolley Museum at 58 North Road in East Windsor.<\/p>\n<p>The mural was completed over the summer and the official dedication will be held on October 15<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0at 10:00AM during the Museum\u2019s Pumpkin Patch event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lovers of art, lovers of East Windsor, lovers of trolleys, and the media are invited to see the art, learn about the historic trolley featured in the mural, grab a picture with the art, and meet the incredible artist, Heather Herindeen also know under the artist name, Lights &amp; Darks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The mural was funded thanks to donations from 31 individuals and businesses in East Windsor and beyond including Belvedere Polish Delicatessen and Michael Luzzi.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8089\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eastwindsorchamber.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/ctrd4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1275\" height=\"1650\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Connecticut Trolley Museum is located at 58 North Road (Rt. 140) and is a short 15 minutes north of Hartford or a short 15 minutes south of Springfield.
