Geissler’s Supermarket announces after careful consideration, they want to share that Geissler’s has made the difficult decision to close our South Windsor location on July 17.

“This decision was not made lightly,” said Bob Rybick, President of Geissler’s. “South Windsor holds a special place in my heart because I began my own career there in the produce department.
The store, and the people in it, have meant a great deal to me both personally and professionally.
Since its grand opening in 1988, Geissler’s has long held a vision for the South Windsor location to serve as a flagship store. However, after evaluating all available options, leadership determined that closing the store is the most responsible step forward to ensure the long-term health of the company and support its mission to grow and serve as many communities as possible with fresh, locally sourced, quality food.
The company remains committed to supporting its South Windsor team members during this transition. Geissler’s Human Resources team is working closely with all affected employees to provide support, answer questions, and assist in exploring other opportunities within the company wherever possible.
“The South Windsor store has been a valued part of the Geissler’s family and the local community for nearly four decades,” Rybick said. “We’re incredibly thankful for the commitment and care shown by our team, and for the unwavering loyalty of our customers. We thank the South Windsor community for being such an important part of our journey these past 37 years, and we hope to continue serving you at our nearby locations.
